File Formats
All print-ready files should be provided in PDF format. Any other provided file types will require pre-press preparation and may include additional artwork fees.
Any design assets being provided Enklo for artwork design should be provided in the highest quality available. If possible please provide assets (such as logos) in vector formats (PDF, AI, EPS). If this is not possible, please provide us with the highest resolution raster format (JPG, PNG, PSD) of the images.
Bleed & Margins
Due to the nature of print, there is always a chance the print will move slightly throughout the printing and cutting process – this is why the industry standard is to include bleed. This movement is very minor, generally up to +/-2mm at most. We strongly recommend adding 3mm bleed to your artwork, and to have your artwork stretch to the edge of the bleed. In addition to this, we also recommend a margin of space (3-5mm) between the edge of the design and the content in your print design.
Colours
All print-ready artwork should be provided in CMYK, unless specified otherwise. In addition to this, it really helps us with our design process if you can provide the exact colours used in your branding (or provide us with your Brand Guide).
Image Resolution
Where vector images can’t be provided (e.g. photography), we require that images be provided in the highest resolution possible. These images can always be reduced to the size needed, but they can never be upscaled without losing their quality. Generally, the original image from a phone or camera will be sufficient, provided that the image is in focus and there is no motion blur. Additionally, we images that are at least 300 DPI allow us to achieve the highest quality print.
Please note, taking images that have been uploaded to websites or social media tend to be compressed and lose a significant amount of their quality. Image taken from Facebook will most definitely look low quality when printed out.
Fonts
Please ensure all fonts are outlined in any print-ready files provided to Enklo. This is because the fonts used in your artwork are usually stored on your computer, and when your artwork is opened up on our computer (or even the printer) this font may not exist. As a result, the text in your artworks will be printed in a different style.
Artwork Permissions
Please ensure you have the rights to any imagery or assets you wish to print. This includes the permission to use imagery you didn’t capture yourself, and having consent of people in the photos. You cannot take images from someone else’s website and use it for yourself without permission.
